Updates and Fall train riding poll

Hi all,

It's definitely been a while since we posted anything, so I thought I would get the ball rolling again. I am sorry that I have been out of sight, but a lot has been going on at Elon Law, including conferences, government document collection issues, and getting prepared for the upcoming semester. I am, however, very excited about the new semester since I will be teaching 3 legal research classes.

I really enjoyed the July 9th get-together. I think we all had a good time, although it was kind of loud in Mellow Mushroom. We will definitely have to do it again.

Before then, however, I have a question for all of you out there in NC train commuter land, who all will be riding the train this fall?

Tschüss!

Get-together - Thursday, July 9

All are welcome to join us for a get together in Greensboro at 5pm(ish) on Thursday, July 9 at the Mellow Mushroom.

Don't know where the Mellow Mushroom is? It's at 609 South Elm Street, Greensboro, NC 27406. Need a visual? How about a Google Map.

So, if you're going to be around, please stop by and kick back for a little while with us until it's time to hop a train. :) If you cannot make, we'll miss you, but try to catch you next time.

TTYL!

Dwindling "group" for the time-being

Hi All,
Yuh-Lang Lin asked me this morning after we were the only 2 in the bunch on the train, to please post something.
Well, it seems to me our "group" is in a waning phase; however, this too shall pass.
And I am pleased Carol and Jenny are staying in touch and/or threatening to show up one day again soon.
If you decide to get together in the next couple of weeks, please do and I'll join you on another get-together. Elizabeth Dyer, my wife, and I are very involved as volunteers at the Eno Festival, July 3, 4 and 5th: http://www.enoriver.org/Festival/
and then I'm taking most of 2 weeks off from my usual day job, which should be fine, since one of our boys, Simon, the helicopter pilot, will be home visiting from Oregon.
I will probably be riding the train this coming Monday, June 29th and then not again until July 15th.
In the meantime, take good care and I'll look for you here.
Warmest regards to all,
Art
PS I think I'll tell Chrissie about this blog; sending her an e-mail now.

Tomorrow is my last train ride for a while

To all the readers of this fabulous blog,

Tomorrow (Tuesday) will be my last ride on the Piedmont Train 73/74 for a while. I will be driving in on Wednesday and Thursday I officially become a Greensboro-ian/ite/er (I think we had a conversation once on the train about what suffixes you use at the end of various locations, but cannot remember what the conclusion of that conversation was).

Carol, Yuh-Lang and I have come to the conclusion, however, that while Carol and I are graduating from the train, we are still a part of the "Train Gang," and as such we should get together on a regular basis with everyone. I will need advance notice of the get-togethers so that I can arrange to switch shifts with my co-worker so that there is reference desk coverage at the law school, but I am looking forward to seeing all of you and keeping up-to-date with everyone.

Oh, and those of you who live in Raleigh and Cary, do not breathe a sigh of relief yet! I WILL be back to visit! MWAHAHAHAHAHA....oh...right...no evil laughs...might scare some people... ;)
